700 Bourke Street is an iconic and sustainable 16 storey office building located adjacent to Southern Cross Station. Developed and owned by Cbus Property, 700 Bourke Street is home to 6,000 NAB employees. The project was delivered via an integrated fitout with NAB as the single corporate tenant.
The building design features a spectacular full height atrium, landscaped roof garden, restaurants, cafes, as well as spaces available to community groups including a multi-mode theatrette (public gathering place when not in use), exhibition spaces, seminar rooms, customer and community meeting places, retail and childcare facility. The work floors were designed to follow flexible real-time working principles (or Activity Based Working) to enable staff to work flexibly in a diverse range of spaces.
700 Bourke Street has achieved a 6 Star Green Star Office Design v3 rating with the NAB fitout achieving 5 Star Green Star Office Interiors certification.
The project was delivered in partnership with APP Corporation and achieved practical completion in May 2013.
The project was awarded the 2014 Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) Victorian Chapter ‘Commercial Architect Award’ and ‘Interior Architecture Award’.
