OPP is the major tenant at 565 Lonsdale Street and has been in occupation since the building’s completion in 1987. The building, although generally structurally sound, was in its original condition and did not meet modern specifications for this category of commercial accommodation.
The project provided the following:
- A building that was upgraded and equipped to function effectively and efficiently for the next 20 to 25 years.
- Modernise the building to bring it up to current building standards and regulations that is matched to emerging trends to place the building well for the future.
- Provide a building that will demonstrate its efficiency by achieving a NABERS base building rating of 4.5 Stars and be equivalent to 5 Star Green Star.
- Provide an upgrade of the building that represents value for money for government.
The project was completed on time and under budget which allowed for additional works to be done to the building.
